Each pupil team  (normally 3 pupils) is issued with their own robot in a cardboard box.  The robot comes in a number of bits and the first activity to to build it and test it.  The following table list the items in the kit box.

Silver wire links

 

Used to make robot go into a test mode when it is switched on.  See activity 1.

 

Easily bent into a U shape.

Brown wire links

 

Used to allow the building of an object catcher at the front of the robot.

 

These should not be confused with the silver wire links.

Pack of spare components

Extra rivets, front skid dome nut, and pen holder screw.

DVD

Single DVD holds all video material for the project

We also use  B&Q Value Lining Paper (White) as a substitute.  Price as of 25th Oct 09 is £1.78 per 10m roll.

 

Berol Broad pens

The pen holder is designed to take a Berol Broad pen.  However, it will be able to take other similar sized pens.

Rolls of black tape

Any 19mm width black tape could be used.

Spare robot kit

1

Available for use by the teacher.
